Went to GDG Pisa DevFest today, favorite talks:
- Flutter and Game development: where to begin?: a talk by Mirko Raimo on how to use the Flutter Casual Games Kit and Flame
- Crafting digital twins in Rust: a talk by Gianluca Insolvibile on how to build actors in Rust using type-driven design.
- Dietro le quinte dell'animazione, il ruolo del technical director: a talk by Silvia Raggi on the role of Technical Director. I had no idea this profession even existed, and this was a really cool look behind the scenes on how animation products are built and how the technical director works with artists, building them tools and taking care of the whole production pipeline.
- OTEL: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My Microservices: a talk by Antonino Cangialosi on Opentelemetry. I was familiar with many of the concepts explained but it was a more in depth look on how it all works.
The topics were VERY different from each other and from what I normally do (the closest one is the OTEL one), but I really enjoyed them and learned a lot today! Thanks to all the speakers and GDG Pisa for organising.
